I was knocked off my intended blog-posting schedule for most of May by
unexpected animation and illustration jobs, but they are coming
to a close and I'll be posting regularly again beginning next
weekend, and I should also have a completely revamped website
up by midsummer. I have many projects to share and many ideas
to discuss over the next few months--changes are rife for me lately
and almost all of them are welcome and long awaited!
Below are two recent experiments; fantasy
portraits done with watercolor and casein, 5 x 7 inches.
I attempted to blend caricature, the spontaneous design of
a good sketch, an essence of personality, and a playful
treatment of the paint in these tiny images.
